A plain weave fabric with long, thin cotton threads resembles a typewriter ink ribbon. The name derives from the fact that it was initially used as ribbon for printing text on typewriters. It has excellent cold protection and is difficult for wind to pass through due to its dense weaving. It is also distinguished by its firmness and crisp hardness.
